The Huron class battleship was one of the most powerful ship classes in the Olympian fleet in the Second Sabor war. It was named after its designer, Thomas Huron, who saw the need in the fleet of a ship that could dominate the theatre to which it was tasked. Since Proteus ship yards had the repair and production network throughout the empire, it was logical to use components derived from all the research and development of the Dragon class.
While the Huron shares many hull components with the Dragon class, the Huron is 1,000 meters longer and 300 meters taller. The extra hull length allows for 4 additional fusion reactors over the Dragon class. This gives it a total of 10 to power its extra weapons, engines, and energy shields with power to spare. While the Huron class shares the same sublight engines as the Dragon class, the Huron class has 6 sublight engines while the Dragon class has just 4.
The Huron class provides a third more firepower to the theatre of operations over the Dragon class, making it an asset to have in high numbers. While the Huron class is not the most prevalent class of battleship in the empire, it is one of the most powerful, and it lives up to Proteus ship yards’ level of combined toughness and style, making it one most desirable ships of the empire to serve on.
